Warblers, and an American Redstart. Next alert will report a Blackpoll
Warbler found on Bateman Island yesterday.

This is the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society Bird Alert for August 24,

On August 16 at Crow Butte State Park, Craig Corder and Judy Stevens found
an OLIVE-SIDED and GRAY FLYCATCHER, a TENNESSEE WARBLER, YELLOW, TOWNSEND'S
and WILSON'S WARBLERS, and an AMERICAN REDSTART.

On August 17, Ruth Fischer and Nancy LaFramboise birded the Audubon Nature
Trail in Columbia Park and Bateman Island where they observed WARBLING
VIREOS, ORANGE-CROWNED, NASHVILLE, YELLOW, YELLOW-RUMPED, TOWNSEND'S ,
MACGILLIVRAY'S and WILSON'S WARBLERS. They also noted some TREE SWALLOWS
by the Columbia Park Marina.

On August 18, Bob Gerding found 7 BURROWING OWLS at the Pasco Airport and
Ruth Fischer found 34 GREAT EGRETS and an OSPREY just downstream from the
I-182 bridge over the Yakima River.

on August 20, Phil Bartley discovered a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER on Bateman
Island and relocated it on August 23 as well as a BLACK TERN on the Yakima
Delta. I (Bob Woodley) found both of these birds again today (8/24).

Also on August 20, Ruth Fischer saw a WESTERN TANAGER in her yard. I found
a RED-NECKED GREBE off Columbia Point. Later that day, together, we found
an OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER on Bateman Island and the following day a
PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER there.

On August 22, Mike and MerryLynn Denny reported a STILT SANDPIPER and 70
RED-NECKED PHALAROPES on the ponds just east of Iowa Beef off Dodd Road and
mentioned that on August 18, there were 208 RED-NECKED and 3 WILSON'S
PHALAROPES there.

On August 23, Patty Pollari reported a BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD, WESTERN
WOOD-PEWEE, HOUSE WREN, WILSON'S WARBLER, and WESTERN TANAGER in her yard
during the previous few days.

Also on August 23, Dennis Rockwell found 3 OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHERS, WESTERN
WOOD-PEWEES, a TENNESSEE WARBLER and other warblers in Two Rivers Park,
(Finley) and I found a CASSIN'S VIREO and several warblers in Groves Park
(Richland).
