Is there a clear connection or proof that hounds and bait are necessary
for hunting bears and cougars? I recall seeing a statistic on the news
recently that showed that the number of cougars killed each year by
hunters since the law was established is about half what it had been. My
thought is: Apparently people are successfully hunting without bait and
hounds. Is the change in numbers killed because those who like to use
hounds and bait are just choosing not to hunt because it's too
difficult? How have those who have successfully bagged a cougar managed
to do it?
