Hi All,
We had a lovely day doing some casual birding around the tip of the lake.
The gray clouds and the yellowing leaves on the cottonwoods and aspens
definitely felt fall-like. Vaux's Swifts are on the move, saw a group of 30
and another of 50; lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers moving as well. We saw one
American Pipit. Three Tundra Swans on the east side sloughs capped the day,
although the two Red-necked Grebes came a close second.
Lots of birds around for the kokanee feast. The kokanee are now migrating up
to the spawning channel, so we are seeing lots of gulls (Herring,
Ring-billed and California), Common Mergansers and Common Loons.
