Subject: First close-up wood duck

I've seen lots of wood ducks, but they've always been either really far off
("o.k., if you *say* it's a wood duck...."), or flying overhead. However,
today, in the last place I would have expected, I saw one about 10 feet
away in a pond here near work. I'm in the Eastgate area of Bellevue, and
there's an artificial pond which is generally home year-round to mallards
and Canada Geese. Going to get lunch today, lo and behold, hanging out
with about 5 mallards, was a single wood duck. Quite a pleasant surprise!

O.k., so the duck wasn't going to lunch, I was, but...oh never mind....8-)
