Tweeters,

A young male Anna's Hummingbird has been at our feeder since the morning of
27 August. I first heard it over the din of diesel tractors and blaring
TexMex music (fruit pickers boom box) which were involved in the harvesting
of our Gala apples. I didn't see it yesterday, but suspected watching the
feeders would cinch the report. This morning I had good views of this
young male and again heard it give its characteristic jumbled "song." I
noted the many Rufous Hummingbirds were dominant at the feeders over this
bigger bird, which surprised me. Also present were Black-chinned
Hummingbirds, which were Number # 3 in line at the feeder.
Anna's Hummingbirds are still less than annual visitors in this area (or at
least reported less than once a year).
