Hello Tweeters,
I supposed to be going out of town, try to finding some of the late
species of Dragonflies. Instead i spending all day to watch 4 Green Herron
in one of my neighbors little pond. It started yesterday seeing 8 juvenile
Green Herron landing in high firtrees next door. Cause by the time i got my
camera out the birds moved. As we try to follow where there was flying, we
was lucky to find this real nice lady to invite us in to her yard. I could
not believe there was 4 Green Herron's in the smalest pool you ever find
such a bird's hanging out. I spend most all day with this birds. At one
time there was 3 birds flying on the lawnchairs, the fourth standing below
try to get on too. Also there eating some kind of worms out of the lawn. The
whole time i been watching and photographing this birds, there try to fly
of or backing up, instead there was not disturbed at all with our beeing
there. There standing most all day around this smal pool erea. There was 1
adult and three juvenile birds. I already picked up some of my photos and
there are Great. The only time ever i will get photos like this. And it is
good to know that other people caring and preserving HABITAT besides us
birders. Halve of the peoples yard was lelft wild and untatched, so there
was plenty cover and verry tall trees, almost like old growth, i also took
photos of the habitat around the area. Birds was flying and also feeding on
all her feeders, it was like an Oasis right in the middle of a residence.
