Or, birds other people have seen while talking to me on the phone. I like
that even better. Seems I'm spending more and more time at my desk these
days, and less in the field, so maybe this is the future.

Thanks for the posting, Russell. My list is started.

I wonder if this will spark a thread on unusual lists -- maybe a good topic
for this season when the weather is keeping birders indoors. Here's a
start. Attu birders have been known to keep track of birds they see from
the pit toilets. There are some fabulous species on these lists including,
I believe, at least one North American first record. Says something, too,
about the structural integrity of the facilities at Attu -- in case you've
ever thought of going there.
