HelloTweeters,
The weather was so good today, and the birding was excelent. I started out
in Gorst, again looking for Gulls. The Tide was good what is verry
important to see the birds in close range.I was so surprised to see so
many Dunlin. A flock of 250 with 3 Black Turnstone and 2 Long-billed
Dowitcher. I been going there for years, and never i encounter this many
there. the Tide was this right 13.O on an outgoing Tide.I counted 7 Species
of Gulls, including 1 2nd winter Herring Gull. Lot's of White-winged
Scoters. I did not make a list on all the species i saw there, manly
checking for Gulls.
I am making a Bird study in Camp Murray what is theNational Guard
Headquarters. So this was my first day on the Camp.Camp Murray is also
conected to American Lake, which is part what we could not enter looking
for the Little Gull. Camp Murray have close to 250 Acre diversity of
Habitat. One is particular good the Murry Creek which runs in to American
Lake. One can walk on both side of this Creek where there is good cover
for birds. One side of this Creek would be good for maybe a Swamp Sparrow
, also good for Dragonflies. The water is real quite and almost still. I
am verry excited for the privilege to make this Bird survey. Highlight for
today was Hutton's Vireo with a flock of Ruby and Golden-croned
Kinglet. There also where 2 female and male Kingfisher on the Creek. All
together i counted 46 species in two hours.
