Hello! I'm a new member on the list and have greatly enjoyed all of
your posts. My family and I live on Whidbey Island, about 50 miles NNW
of Seattle, Washington. We are blessed to have as neighbors a bald
eagle family, a blue heron, hawks, woodpeckers, finches, and many other
fine feathered friends. Husband Tim is a fan of the hawks and eagles,
while my daughter Nicole and I favor the songbirds.

We've been having some harsh windstorms of late (and as I type another
storm is on it's way). Unfortunately some birds have been injured by
the storms. Below is a special plea on behalf of some injured birds -
please help if you can.

Help seabirds

More than 100 starving birds, like Pacific
loons, Western grebes and a pelican,
need assistance at the Progressive Animal
Welfare Society in Lynnwood.

The sick, anemic, thin birds suffered through
winter storms in the Ocean Shores
area. The agency is scrambling to find enough
volunteers to feed the birds, help
with beach rescues, provide transport, or
deliver towels and sheets to 15305
