mpatters at orednet.org don't more cattlemen choose to use a proven
method of range management that is more
economically AND environmentally sound.

Robert Loeffel has been conducted beached bird transects just south of
Newport, OR since 1978. Bob's ratio of Short-tailed Shearwaters to Sooty
Shearwaters in Novemeber over the last 21 yrs is 1.1/1.0 (n=22/20) and for
December (20 yrs) it is 1.07/1.00 (n=15/14). Over the last 21 years Bob has
found 3 Short-tailed Shearwaters in January, 1 in February and none in
March. For Sooty Shearwaters he has recovered none in Janaury, 2 in
February and 3 in March.

FYI,

Roy
