Subject: Two Bald Eagles at Shilshole

It was wet and I was short on time this morning, but I took a quick walk
around the south end of the Shilshole Bay Marina. Four Barrow's
Goldeneyes, (2,2) one male Common Goldeneye, a pair of Buffleheads, two
Western Grebes and a Horned Grebe were all in the vicinity of "A" pier,
but the highlight was a pair of adult Bald Eagles perched on a sign on
the breakwater, near the south end. (The crooked old white sign, not the
new blue sign.) One was a bit bigger than the other, broader more than
taller. This seems to be a favorite perch, I've seen one here before, but
never two so close (2 ft.) together. For those of you who don't know the
area this is less than half a mile from the nest in Discovery Park, not
that they're the pair that nest there... Almost very piling down by
Kevin's Purple Martin nestbox site had a DC cormorant on it, maybe 25 in
all, I almost forgot that.
