>From my window at home, I watch a pair of Eagles, which use a roost above
the Fauntleroy Ferry Dock. For the last month or so, there has been either
one bird present or none, but during the last week the two have been
together, sitting about 2 feet apart. This usually happens at this time of
year, prior to mating. During the nesting season, it goes back to one at a
time, and then the two appear together again in late Summer. The hiatus in
late Fall may be because of availability of dead salmon as a food source
away from the immediate vicinity.
