Hi Tweets,

Went down to Thurston county on a very wet Friday, Dec. 11, to see if I
could locate the White-tailed Kite reported at Mima Mounds. No luck there,
but thanks to Bob Norton's post of 3 weeks ago, I did go over and re-find
one (possibly two) kites near Tenino from the end of Mima Acres Drive.
Looking straight out (westward) from the end of that road, nearly as far as
the eye could see, was a white speck in a tree with a white bird flying by.
Got the scope out and confirmed that the bird in the tree was a WTKI but the
second bird had disappeared to the south. The first bird was being harassed
by crows and eventually took off to the north.

Shot back up to the main road (to the north end of the prairie) and located
the same or another bird closer to the road perched atop a deciduous tree.
This location is just south of the entrance to Dan Darr farm.

Stopped off at American Lake on the way home and saw the adult
(basic-plumaged) Little Gull from Harry Todd Park. It was actively hunting
at mid afternoon.
