Subject: report of brown pelican

Dear Dr. Victor, I wanted to report a sighting to Tweeters. I was on a
Mountaineer hike along the bluff one mile north Ebey's Landing State
Park on Whidby Island. At 1pm Sunday, Dec. 13, 1998, a single brown
pelican was flying north, very low, along the surf line, into a stiff
north wind. Steve Sears, the leader of the hike, confirmed the pelican
through the spotting scope. There were numerous bald eagles, too.
