On Wedensday morning about 8:30, the greens arrived at our feeder near
Seward Park. We counted six then, but today all seven are here. They left
for their fall migration northward in September and we hadn't seen them
after that until yesterday. We expect them to stay now until late next
summer. Where they go north of here, we do not know. We suspect there is a
particularly bountiful orchard somewhere that they go for their autumn
feedings. Now they're back to the sunflower seeds and whatever else they
find in our neighborhood. It's a seasonal event to have them back. And
just in time for the holidays.
