This morning, for the second time this week, I saw an immature accipiter
visit my bird feeder, both times it came away empty. I'm not surprised at
the visits, just that they happened while I was watching and both times
the bird stayed long enough for me to get my binoculars. I'm still not
sure which one it was, but if I had to guess I'd say it was a coopers,
the stripes on the head were quite pale and it was on the big end of the
scale, but it's just a guess. Both times (the 15th and the 19th) I was
making my toast, about 9:30AM

After that I took a quick trip to the locks and Shilshole, the birds
looked cold, I know I was. There were seven Great Blue Herons in a single
Doug Fir, all of them "bundled up".
