Jerry Converse asks: Has anyone had any experience with this software, good
or bad. The New 2.5 version is now out.

I have both Thayer's Birder's Diary & Birds of North America -- and I love
them both. I've ordered the new version of BNA 2.5 and should be getting it
soon. They've added many good things I'm told and am really looking forward
to the new program. The comparison feature Jack mentioned IS wonderful and
the many tests are fun and educational (and I understand in 2.5 you can
create your own tests). The photos are good quality and usually there are
several of each species. Another great thing about BNA is it comes with
Birder's Handbook. Makes reading up about a bird pretty easy - just click
on the bird, click on BH and there's the text - complete with drawings and
links to related subjects.

Anyway, I think it's a great program. I don't think you could do much
better . . .
