With a low of -6 and a high of 10, NINE brave souls went out into the
wilds of eastern WA. and c-c-counted birds.Considering the weather and
few people to count we still came up with 72 species and a total of
5,895.

Best bird of the day was 2 Oldsquaw (Long-tailed Duck) at two different
locations. The Steller's Jay that had showed up at our suet feeder for
several days until the day before count week is still hiding somewhere,
or-------made a meal for--------hmmm. Maybe it will show up in the next
three days.

A special thanks to Dan Stephens and Ken Knittle for coming here to help
out.
