Good Morning, Tweeters
I just want to reiterate the story of the Emperor goose from Blackman Lake,
Snohomish. 3 years ago(approximately), there was a pair of Emperor geese that
appeared after a early winter storm. They were on the far side of the lake
near the fishing docks, but, on a private beach area. They stayed on at the
lake, and the following fall, one of them was killed by kids with a bb rifle!
There was an attemped rescue by a local wildlife group, but, they were unable
to snag the wounded and dying goose. The remaining goose stayed on at the
lake and was seen hanging out with other waterfowl, mainly Canada geese. The
goose disappeared about the same time a flock of geese left, last winter and
had not been seen here since. My speculation is that this could be the same
goose. Would that be possible? I do not know the number of years an Emperor
goose could survive.
