Hi Tweets,

Has any attempt been made to find out if any aviculturists
in the N. Olympic Penninsula area are missing an Emperor. Todd's
"Natural History of the Waterfowl" says that the Emperor Goose is
highly desired and common in collections. I've personally seen
captive Emperors in a Fir Island (Skagit County) collection, and
just this last weekend Gene Hunn and another birder saw several in
a collection in North Kitsap County.
I hear there is someone in the Port Angeles area with a
very large waterfowl collection - unfortunately I can't remember
the person's name.
I don't have strong feelings one way or another about
the bird's origin, lacking what I think is crucial information
about the status of Emperor Geese in Washington collections, and
the incidence of escape. Is there an aviculturist's organization
in Washington that could be consulted for such info?
