I counted 16 Fox Sparrows at my feeders this morning, the most
interesting one is spotted with white all over the body and has a white
forehead and a white collar on the back of the neck. For the first time
this winter we have more than a dozen Pine Siskins as a flock of about
200 descended on the feeders. House Finch numbers are the lowest that I
have noted in twenty years here. It looks like the Sauvie Island C.B.C.
will be free of freezing rain or snow this year and hopefully we can get
a good turnout this Sunday on the Washington side, meet at Vancouver Lake
Park parking lot or the Ridgefield N.W.R. Carty Unit parking lot at 7
a.m.
Merry Christmas
