Regarding the Canada Goose kill, I would strongly suspect coyotes. I had
three separate sightings of coyotes in the Phantom Lake area in the past
2 years and I have only been over there half a dozen times. One of the
sightings was less than 3/4 mile from Larsen Lake. While I have never
seen them at Larsen Lake, it seems to me that they are so close to the
area as to be the prime suspects. A coyote is too small too carry off
anything that large, so it a coyote did kill it, it may have planned to
come back.
