No one even tried to guess--I wonder why.

The answer is: 57 Goldfinches, 14 House Finches, 38 House Sparrows, 8 Pine
Siskin, and 1 Mountain Chickadee. That is .0745 ounces per bird.

The sunflower seed has a 2 to 1 weight ratio. ie. 3 ounces of seed produces
1 ounce of hull and 2 ounces of meat--and I don't mean beef. No! I did not
shell the thistle to check it. :-)

After hours of removing hulls and a multitude of calculations, I have come
to the conclusion that 16 ounces equals one pound. '-)
