Hi Tweeters,

Cindy Sprecher and I walked around Discovery Park on Sunday...a beautiful
morning. I was impressed with all the singing. In addition to a nice
assortment of the usual stuff, we got some great looks at a singing and
displaying male Anna's Hummingbird at the overlook near the Native American
Structure. The call sounds a lot like 'static' to me. Also, we heard and
later located a singing Hutton's Vireo near the new pond over by the army
housing area. I always think, "what an annoying call' just before it dawns
on me what it is.

It seems that every time I go to Discovery Park, there's a little less of it
left...a bit more pavement, slightly more built-up areas, bigger buildings,
more trash and trail erosion...more joggers and dogs...
