Well I don't know whether the salmonberries in my neck of the woods are
flowering, but I remeber that they were during the third week of February
last year. With the mild winter, I would not be surprised to see them in
the next week. Crocuses are already flowering, and other bulbs have
sprung into action the past two weeks here. I have a couple of questions
about Rufous Hummingbirds though. What date is normal for me to start
expecting them? Has any one else seen any this year? Also, last year we
had them for a few weeks, then by mid-may, nothing. What happened? It
was just like they dissappeared.

Haven't seen either of our local Anna's in over a week. I remember
reading somewhere that they breed during the winter. Is this just in the
California part of their range? What time of the year have people seen
them nesting around here?

Thanks!
