Yes I know, I have two different types, along with an assortment of about
17 different turkey calls. I sort of collect them. Besides they really
com in handy when you want to get some good pictures. I guess you could
say I hunt with a camera, never picked up a gun in my life, and probably
never will. Needless to say, just calling turkeys is great fun. I like
to make the calls from scratch, which is also a lot of fun. Supposedly
these "owl-calls" work best during dawn and dusk. At other times of the
day, many people use crow calls, coyote calls, or even dog whistles.
Surprisingly, all of them will make a turkey "shock gobble," as will
thunder, and many other loud noises.
