I will be travelling north this next weekend to bird in northern Washington
and British Columbia. I plan to get up to Gibsons for the Xantus but was
wondering about other possibilities. A Yellow-billed Loon would be a life
bird, but the directions that I have seen so far wouldn't help me. Other
wish list species include Gyrfalcon (are there any around the Samish Flats
or where they might be found somewhat reliably). Is the Green-tailed
Towhee still in the area? I plan to bird on the way up Skagit or Samish
Flats on Saturday and try to get up for the Hummingbird on Sunday. I will
probably look around Stanley Park and Lost Lagoon on Sunday afternoon. I
am hoping to get to Riefel (sp?) on Monday. I would appreciate any
suggeestions and will change my plans if needed. Also, if anyone out there
is planning on going north and would like to get together for part of the
time that would be great. Thanks in advance for any suggetions!
