Subject: Bingen Tufted Duck

I saw the male TUFTED DUCK at Bingen, WA just across the Columbia from Hood
River on Sunday 2-7. I don't know where it was originally reported from but
I took the first road in town that looked like it went down to the river
and luckily found it in a matter of minutes. The road is in the middle of
town but had no street sign. Look for a sign saying "Bingen Marina" with an
arrow. Take this dirt road down to the river. The duck was off the end of
the road within 25 yards of shore in the company of 6-7 scaup.

I looked for the BLACK DUCK in Hood River without success.

I did see one of the SLATY BACKED GULLS at the pellet plant.

I looked for the CLAY COLORED SPARROW in Canby without luck.

The EASTERN FOX SPARROW was present at Salem's Riverfront Park.
