Traverse City, Michigan [self-proclaimed Cherry Capitol of the World] got
some bad pub this year because for the annual Cherry Festival, they flew
in cherries from Washington State, and apparently they've been doing it
that way for years. The local cherry harvest in Michigan comes weeks
*after* the festival by a few weeks. But the fourth of July is a nice
time to have a parade, I guess, so the Chamber of Commerce scheduled the
festival then.
