Hi, Shannon. Here are some suggestions:

1) General reference on B.C. goshawks (and other raptors) -

No contest here: Frank Beebe's 1974 monograph on B.C. raptors "Field Studies of
the Falconiformes of British Columbia - Vultures, Falcons, Hawks and Eagles".
This was published as No. 17 of the Occasional Paper Series of the B.C.
Provincial Museum (now Royal B.C. Museum). Try the book store at the museum to
see if they have any in stock or can get reprints. Otherwise you may be able to
find a copy at the UBC or main Vancouver library. Frank Beebe was a longtime
falconer who flew just about everything possible at one time or another. He was
wrong about DDT and eggshells but then he wasn't a chemist. Note that Frank
recognized a smaller Vancouver I. goshawk race that I think has now been merged
with _laingi_.

2) Birds of B.C. - Vol. Two (Campbell, et al. 1990) -

Unfortunately, discussion of subspecies is the weakest part of this landmark
publication. Useful for visualizing relative distribution of records, though.

3) There was some actual goshawk field work done over the past couple of years
on the Charlottes. Not sure who actually did the survey. Best bet is to ask
around the local biologist community; if you try to go through the forest
company who footed the bill for the study, you will likely be stonewalled. I
here that the surveyors made very few actual goshawk contacts.
