Hi All,
It was a pleasant morning, sunshine yielding to overcast and then coming
back strong. Signs of spring are at last in the west Kootenays. Buffleheads
bobbing heads, lots of Canada Geese( I think Lessers, but CAGO races seem
harder to differentiate that first year gulls). The biggest surprise of the
morning was hearing two Red-winged Blackbirds. Funny how such a common
fellow can bring such delight.

Horned Grebe(41), Canada Goose(21), Mallard(14), American Wigeon(1), Common
Goldeneye(3), Barrow's Goldeneye(1), Bufflehead(36), Common Merganser(6),
Bald Eagle(2), American Coot(1), Herring Gull(11), Common Raven(9),
Black-capped Chickadee(1), Golden-crowned Kinglet(1), Song Sparrow(2),
RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD(2), Pine Siskin(109, precisely).
Cheers,
