We have a small concrete pond built especially for the birds. They love it
but it is a royal pain in the neck. It leaks (and we can't find the leak),
but the main problem is algae. I would suggest altering the pond that you
already have in a way such as Kelly suggested. And, by the way, the birds
are at it almost every day, rain or shine, except when it is frozen.
