I know of a Coopers Hawk male that worked his way into a banders sparrow
ground trap for migrants. He caught so many (number unkown) that he could
not fly and tried to escape when the trap was opened by flapping over the
ground. He was caught and placed on a branch by an understanding bander to
digest his load of ill gotten booty . The breast feathers were so widely
parted he looked partially plucked.

To shift species I feed a pair well behaved crows have done so for 8yrs
.Many times I have noticed that one will fill up while other watches than
the first bird will load up its beak with what is being offered and the pair
will fly off together. Have any crow watchers observed one adult feeding
another sort'a like waxwings passing berriers to each other? This feeding
behavior takes place year round and not just during the nesting season. Bill
