This past weekend (what a gorgeous Saturday) we saw a pair of bald eagles at
Nisqually NWR..possibly the resident breeding pair.
There was also a sea lion feeding in the River. Won't say much about that for
fear some yahoo will come and shoot him.

Also, and this is puzzling..there's a small family of geese living with a
Canada honker at Nisqually. The honker is obviously the parent bird, but the
"kids" are wierd as all get out. They look like a cross between a honker and a
snow goose or a honker and an emperor. All five of the kids are larger in bulk
as well as height than the honker, with snow goose shaped heads and beaks.
They are liberally splashed with white in a semi uniform pattern..for
instance, two of them have identical 'cummerbunds' of white encircling their
chests. They HAVE to be hybrids. Anybody out there have any more information
on these birds?
