Yesterday was rain, rain, rain; but today, Sunshine. Rick and I went up =
West Foster Creek (no grouse) from Bridgeport to Mansfield. Many new =
"ponds" due to melting snow are attracting thousands of Canada Geese, =
and at least l00 Tundra Swans (most at Atkins Lake). We also saw at =
least l8 Rough-legged Hawks, one Kestrel and one Prairie Falcon =
(nearAtkins). On to Coulee past Banks Lake we saw 20 Bald Eagles (l =
imm.; l9 adults; 5 in one tree). Also, Pintails, Mallards, Red-heads, =
Canvasbacks, Scaup, Wigeon, singing Meadowlarks, Horned Larks (with =
poss. 2 Lapland Longspurs at Atkins). Great trip. Meredith (Geese =
and swans at "ponds" east of Mansfield, as well as near Simms Corner.)
