There is a beautiful winter male OLDSQUAW hanging out next to the Pizza
Castle on the Necannicum Estuary. A male HARLEQUIN DUCK (apparently
transitioning to breeding) is in the same area. There are lots of bay-type
ducks on the Necannicum including all three scoters, COMMON GOLDENEYES
and small pod of WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and a BRANT.
Two HEERMANN'S GULLS were on the green strip of grass in front of the Seaside
Information Center.
HOODED MERGANSERS have take over every available puddle with much head
bobbing... it must be spring.
