Hi,Tweeters,just an hour or so ago I saw a gorgeous Great Blue Heron
come to a landing just off Highway 17 south of the 26/17 intersection
south of Othello. This is in the same area where there is a tiny
wetland (water,cattails) where I've been noticing redwing blackbirds
in the last couple of weeks. That 26/17 intersection is a killer;
the state is going to do an overpass. I'm wondering what effect all
that construction noise,not to mention the actual concrete,will do
to this minuscule piece of habitat for these birds. I drive by this
spot every day & always see the redwings or ducks or something there.
I guess it's too late to do anything, because humans are too stupid
to read the road signs that warn them to stop at the intersection.
So in order to save dumb people,we have to drive away innocent birds.
What a shame.
