Subject: Spring seems possible now

After reading posts for a couple of weeks with indications of mating
behavior and singing birds, it seems that Southeastern Idaho might have
some signs of Spring also. Heard singing of Song Sparrows and immature
White-crowned Sparrows today in a walk around Willow Bay Marina on the
American Falls Reservoir. Saw American Goldfinch just beginning to gain
some yellow, but little to indicate black crowns.

Actually, its the Snowdrops in my yard and Crocus in a birding friend's
yard that give some hope on a drippy overcast day.

it doesn't matter."

p.s. A Red-crested Pochard was seen at Hagerman Fish Hatchery on January
17th. Beautiful male but likely an escapee from a farmer's pond nearby.
