Two or three owls (according to Ron Friesz; sp?) overwinter most years
east of Moses Lake, between Roads 2 NE and 3 NE east of Road L NE. Ron
Friesz said they were on the CBC this year, and Dick Johnson reported
seeing them around Feb. 1. If memory serves, I think Jim Acton saw one
early in winter along the Spokane/Lincoln County border, near where the
border takes a jog around Thorpe Road. Jim Acton keeps an eye out every
winter for the Lincoln/Spokane County birds. He would be the person to
talk to if you want recent info about owls there.
