I was privileged to see a flock of ~24 Great Blue Herons fly over the
Chittenden Locks in Ballard yesterday morning. They flew over the
heronry, circled over the water and broke off into the trees in the
garden area north of the canal. Several others were sitting on various
walls and abutments. I've seen as many as 10 in the trees on previous
days.

The other cool sight of the week was a Red-Tailed Hawk flying lazily at
tree-top level mobbed by about 100 crows Monday morning.
