Sherry, My opinion is that:

THE best place, of course, is at American Camp on San Juan Island. American Camp is a
portion of the "San Juan Island National Historical Park" (where the "Pig War" took place).
There is a big, grassy area between Cattle Point and Eagle Point, full of the warrens of the
European Rabbit. The Skylarks are usually pretty visible this time of year, if you walk the trails
out to the points.

Best transportation to the San Juans, is of course, the Washington State Ferry System out of
Anacortes. I once bicycled to American Camp from Friday Harbor, and wished that I'd been in
better shape. Cars are pretty expensive, but (according to my exhausted muscles) worth the
extra cost. And, I saw the 'feral' Wild Turkeys up at "English Camp" at the north end of San
Juan Island. The ferry schedules and costs are on the web at:
