The Ranger is not waterproof, however the inverting prism is
removable so the interior of the scope can be dried out if it
becomes fogged. I have had mine quite wet on several occasions and
I just take the eyepiece and erector out overnight. However, it
has not been so wet as to collect droplets on the inside of the
front lens which would then likely leave a watermark which would
not be good. If you were in situations where you could not
periodically dry out the scope, such as a sustained camping trip in
a rain forest, then it probably would be a problem.
