If you're going to take a full week for hiking/photography/birding this
spring,
may I suggest you consider a mid- to late-May visit to Malheur NWR and the
surrounding areas?

You'll find yellow-headed blackbirds and much, much more, and every spring
brings
surprises at refuge HQ, the best-known migrant trap in the Great Basin.
