Maybe he was saddened by their death, but definitely did not have the
same reaction I would. I've lost animals to coyotes and bobcats
myself and know people who have lost their pets to mountain lions
and eagles, but it would never cross my mind to kill the wild
animals. Part of living in the country is realizing that you don't
live in the city, and simply having pets and livestock attracts
predators, regardless of what you do to protect them. I just don't
believe that makes it okay to kill wildlife that are trying to live
their life in the face of human encroachment.
