Hello,
Thanks for the post on Conservation License enforcement. Several of us
requested that
WDFW lands in Skagit County and elsewhere be posted with these signs to
inform the public of
what the law requires for use of these areas. Enforcement or not, it is
important to support wildlife habitat and insure operating and maintenance
funds for these areas.
I do not view that enforcement resources are being diverted from hunter
issues to
birders. The CL requirement to use any WDFW owned properties (i.e.
Skagit Wildlife Area, public fishing access/boat launch areas state wide,
Scatter Creek Wildlife Area, etc., etc.) is important to remember that
the non-hunters need to support wildlife habitat. We can all help by
getting a CL.
The tally of licence type is made as to how many are sold and your "vote"
for the
non-hunting side does make a difference. It may not be a perfect law at
this time, but it is important that all of us pay our fare share to help
support wildlife habitat.
