On a drippy walk to return a video this a.m., I was rewarded--and
surprised--by a hawk gliding right over my head at the intersection of
27th and Pine (central district). There were crows in pursuit, so it
didn't hang around, but the bright white rump patch and brown color made
me guess female harrier. Hm. Odd place for her to be? Anyone else see
harriers in the city? Or have ideas what else I saw?

There is a (strange) man up the street who leaves food out for pigeons on
his parking strip every day. I often see the flock get up and zoom in
diversionary circling (what is that called?) with a raptor of some sort in
pursuit. Perhaps their grapevine reveals E. Pine as a good hunting zone.
Many fat pigeons await.
