Hello Tweets,

Today my mother and I birded at the Skagit WRA from 10:30am-1pm, where we
observed the GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE, just north of the previous location in
the brushy area around the east side of the foot bridge. 3 Am. Tree
Sparrows and 1 adult "white-striped form" W.T. Sparrow were noted south of
the east parking lot along the west side of the central field in a large
sparrow flock. The Harris' Sparrow was noted also today as we walked south
from the west parking lot along the west trail in a another large flock of
sparrows that also contained 1 adult "tan-striped" W.T. Sparrow. The
weather was mainly constant rain, but the sparrows didn't seem to mind it.
Other birds of note at this location incuded: 1 Merlin, 1 G.H. Owl, 1 male
Varied Thrush, and 7 P. Finches. An estimated 3,000 Snow Geese were noted
north and west of the Skagit WRA in several large fields, which also
contained 120+ Dunlin and 6 B.B. Plovers. The B.C. Night Herons were not
seen at there usual location on Fir Island Road.
