Today my first bird was a Spotted Towhee. I'm not sure what the
significance of a first bird is for the year but I can say this.
1996 my first bird was a Song Sparrow, my year list ended at 274.
1997 my first bird was a American Bittern, my year list ended at 321. By
this I'm not going to get to 300 this year, hmm.
