First bird - tie between junco and song sparrow.

Having seen a starling-proof suet feeder listed for $40, I said
I can do that with some left over fencing.

My suet feeder now surround by a layer of fencing with holes big
enough for bushtits and too small for starlings. The starlings
can land on the outside fencing but can't stick their heads in
far enough to get to the fat.

I now a have a bonanza of bushtits = second through thirty second
bird of 1998.
