I am forwarding this ad to EuroBirdnet although Canada is far away from
(most) EuroBirdnet readers. But we do seem to travel around more nowadays
as our objects (birds) do.

Cottages for rent in Lac St. Francois National Wildlife Area, Canada:

Located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River and with an area of
1346 hectares, this wetland has been acknowledged as being of
international importance under the RAMSAR Convention. It is the home to
more than 110 breeding bird species including the Least Bittern, Canada
Goose, Redhead, Common Goldeneye, Gadwall, Pileated Woodpecker,
Red-Headed Woodpecker, and Indigo Bunting. It contains one of the the
largest Sedge Wren Colonies in Quebec. Those interested in amphibians
can see the American Tree Toad, the Peeper Treefrog, the Grey Treefrog,
the Northern Chorus Frog, the Northern Leopard Frog and the impressive
Bullfrog. The Painted Turtle and the Map Turtle are common here, as well
as the fierce Snapping Turtle.

The Reserve is located in Dundee, Quebec, 100 km south west from
Montreal, 150 km from Ottawa, and 150 km from Lake Placid, New York. It
is accross the St. Lawrence from Cornwall, Ontario.

Cottages are located near the river's edge, in the centre of the Park.
There is lake access for canoeing. There is an interpretation centre on
site (open may to october). Excellent perch fishing in summer and winter
(through the ice). Shoe shoeing in winter. Nature walks abound.

Cottages can be rented on a seasonal basis (May to September) or on a
weekly basis throughout the year. Accomodation is simple and clean. A
winter cottage is centrally heated.

The weekly rates are $700 Can ($500 US) per week May to September, $500.
Can per week in the off season. Seasonal rates vary in the range of
$3500 to 4000 Can ($3000 US).

If are interested in spending all or part of the summer in eastern
Canada, this is a remarkably peaceful and beautiful place to birdwatch
and to fish, as well as to have access to major Canadian cities.
